Arrival of a beautiful batch of brindles

Announcing the arrival on Dec. 1 of a new litter of 5 pups, 3 boys and 2 girls. This litter is a co-breeding with Paige Zalnoski of Dynia whippets. Paige and I co-bred the sire CH Dynia Sowagla Oberon. Oberon was one of 4 to finish their championships in that litter. Dam of this litter is Raven, Moonbeam Sowagla N Sportingfld Gothic Girl. Here are pics of both sire and dam as well as Raven and her pups right after the birthing.

Frankie has gone to his new home in FL

Cute little Frankie left for his new home on Tues. John and Jennifer just love him already. I know he will have fun playing with his new whippet buddies, Marley and Meridith.

Spotlight on Milo

Another Birthday photo from the Myles x Buffy litter who turned one year old June 13. Milo looks quite proud and happy in his birthday outfit. Thanks to Steve Surfman for the photo. Owners Lisa and Steve also sent along a photo of Milo's first AKC show win. He looks really handsome here. Milo is doing and learning lots of things and is bound to be a "very accomplished dog."

Pretty Piper on Pink Pillow

I really enjoy hearing from people who have gotten whippets from me and I really, really enjoy getting photos of them. I love hearing how they are doing and how much they are loved!! Today, I got this photo of Piper who lives in Florida. She resembles her mom Bonnie in the face, but what really strikes me is how much she looks like her grandfather, the great Luke, CH Sporting Fields Kinsman.

I also noticed how the chair in the background makes a heart shape above Piper's head. Thank you Randi for sharing this photo with me and making my day.

Happy 1st Birthday to Myles and Buffy litter

Yesterday was the big 1st birthday for these babies, so I guess they aren't puppies any more, now they are all grown up. And here is how Mimi celebrated her birthday with her owners Paige and Michael and her best bud Oberon....... goodies at "Piglet's Pantry" in Mt. Dora, FL.

Faith gets a second major this past weekend

Under long time breeder judge Dr. John Shelton. It was at the Asheville Kennel Club on Sunday and a nice 4 pointer.

New Champion photo

Merlin's finishing photo, I am so proud of this sweet boy. And I think this photo turned out really well. Merlin was completely owner/breeder handled to his championship which makes it extra sweet.

Yesterday Chesara Jaytea Chimney Swift whelped a beautiful litter of 10, 4 girls and 6 boys, in varying colors and markings. Sire is my Sel. CH Fleetwood Return To Sendr. Merlin New Champion

What an exciting weekend at the Mid Atlantic Hound Club shows. My Merlin finished his Championship going WD and BOW for a major. As always Merlin was show by me. He is now CH Sowagla Appraxin Makin' Magic. Just as exciting, my Faith, Sporting Fields What Ever was WB for a major as well. I have been waiting to show Faith and now it looks like she is ready!
To top off the day, a litter I have co-bred with Ute Soles and Calvin Perry was born. 5 girls and 2 boys. Sire is CH Fleetwood Return To Sendr, dam is Appraxin Sowagla Hearts Desire. They are beautiful babies with a variety of markings. Watch here for updates.

Dog show news...

From Steve and Lisa with Milo. He won 9-12, winners dog, best of winners and best opposite sex!!!!! today in Delaware at what I think is his first show. And best of all, Milo enjoyed himself and was wagging his tail the whole time on the table. Congrats to Lisa, Steve and Milo. Here is a recent photo of Milo relaxing at home with his new buddy Sloan.

Milo was bred by myself and Phoebe Booth and is from the Myles x Buffy litter.

Sloan was bred by me also with Debbie Butt and is from the Myles x Faith litter.

Leaving the nest

All the babies have gone to their new homes now except one. Charm is still here with me but even she will be leaving soon for her new home in Florida. She is exceptionally bright and her name Charm fits her well as she is certainly charming. She will be going to Ann Meyer and co-owned by myself and co-breeder Debbie Butt. Looks like she will be headed to the show ring.

Jake, Sel. Ch Fleetwood Return To Sendr has been a busy boy lately with lots of girlfriends. I will keep you posted but so far it looks like Mira, or Appraxin Sowagla Hearts Desire is definitely PG. We are awaiting the news on several other girls. If you want info on upcoming Jake pups, just drop me an email.

Baby photos

I am much remiss for not posting photos of the babies before now, but they change so much every day, it is hard to keep up. They are toddling, playing sorta, their eyes are open of course and they have tiny little teeth. They are very aware of me now when I check up on them, sitting and looking right at my face as if to say, whoh, there's that big lady again! They are also enjoying being held, but not for long, and like for me to sit in the ex-pen with them so they can investigate me thoroughly. Today they decided to munch on mommas food so even though they are not quite 4 weeks, I will be starting them on soaked puppy food.

Congrats Barb and Andre!

Congratulations are in order for Barb Timm and Andre. Andre is from the Myles/Buffy litter and is 7 months old. He went Winners Dog for 2 points on his first show weekend. I know this team is going to make me proud.

A date with Festiva Photography

Last weekend, I met with Katie Rudolph of Festiva Photography and three of my dogs. We got some lovely photos, so I wanted to share. I will have to post photos of my old boy Arthur later as the photos aren't ready yet.

New home for Ronin, and litter due soon

Ronin has found a wonderful new home! She will be close by too, with a lovely couple and two other whippets to keep her company.
I'm excited about my upcoming litter due the first week in Feb. Beautiful Faith, Sporting Fields What Ever was bred to Myles, Sel CH Sowagla Quick Silver To Taejaan.
Faith looks like a barrel on legs right now, not exactly a girlish figure. Stay tuned for more updates!
